GIVING BACK TO EL SALVADOR
Shelter Canada.
Shelter Canada is a non profit organization, focused on spreading the gospel through the building of homes in El Salvador. A 12 year civil war, gang violence, and natural disasters have made living conditions very difficult for Salvadorians. Structures made of plastic, cardboard and scrap metal is considered a home by over 400,000 families.
Shelter has designed a house, put together with galvanized steel, to meet the basic needs of these families. Locking windows and doors, a sealed roof, and a concrete floor are a few of the ways that these houses improve the living conditions of those living in poverty. The Salvadorians that populate much of the mountainous landscape, all too often feel forgotten by others, as they are left to fend for themselves. Working along side these people we are able to encourage and show them love.
